Performatieve makers opgelet! Deze zomer biedt De Nijverheid in samenwerking met Amarte drie korte, intensieve duo-residenties voor performatieve makers, gericht op interdisciplinair werken op locatie.
Interdisciplinaire duo-residenties
Ben jij een maker binnen een performatieve discipline (bijv. dans, theater, spoken word, performance kunst) en op zoek naar de uitdaging om te werken met een andere maker? Deze zomerresidenties richten zich op in Nederland gevestigde performatieve makers, die graag de grenzen van hun discipline verkennen of verleggen en die bewust de stap willen maken om met een maker uit een andere discipline aan de slag te gaan. De residentie focust zich op het in korte tijd ontwikkelen van een locatie performance in de buitenlucht: midden op, om en tussen het terras van De Nijverheid. Deze performance zal aan het einde van de residentie gepresenteerd worden voor publiek.
Wat te verwachten
Twee weken residentie: in een korte intensieve periode van ruim twee weken werk je samen met je mede-resident aan het ontwikkelen van een performance in de buitenlucht.
- RESIDENTIE #1 – 3 juli t/m 21 juli | Performance: vrijdagavond 18 juli
- RESIDENTIE #2 – 24 juli t/m 11 augustus |Performance: vrijdagavond 8 augustus
- RESIDENTIE #3 – 14 augustus t/m 1 september | Performance: vrijdagavond 29 augustus
Focus op interdisciplinair werken: de residentie richt zich op kruisbestuiving onder makers vanuit verschillende disciplines. Voor iedere residentie worden twee makers uit verschillende performatieve disciplines aan elkaar gekoppeld.
Residentieatelier + maakplek: als duo heb je voor twee weken je eigen residentie-atelier bij De Nijverheid en daarnaast is het terras jullie maakplek en speelveld van de eindperformance.
Artistieke begeleiding: tijdens de residentie krijgen jullie begeleiding van een mentor die jullie ondersteunt op voornamelijk artistiek, maar ook zakelijk/organisatorisch vlak.
Eindperformance: de residentie werkt toe naar een locatie performance in de buitenlucht, met de kas en/of het buitenpodium als uitvalsbasis bij regen.
Vergoeding: je ontvangt een vergoeding voor deelname aan de residentie van 1500,- euro per resident. Daarnaast ontvang je een vergoeding voor de performancedag van 250,- euro per resident.
Beoordeling
Selectie wordt gedaan op basis van de artistieke kwaliteit van de aanmelding (op basis van portfolio + artist statement), de motivatie om interdisciplinair te willen werken én de motivatie om in residentie te willen gaan mét een andere maker. De selectie en matchmaking ligt in handen van een selectiecomité bestaande uit het programmateam van De Nijverheid en het Amarte Fonds. De selectie wordt op maandag 2 juni bekendgemaakt.

OPEN CALL De Nijverheid x Amarte | Performance residencies summer 2025

Attention, performers! This summer, De Nijverheid and Amarte offer three short, intensive duo residencies for performative artists, focused on working interdisciplinary and site-specific.
Interdisciplinary duo residencies
Are you a performative artist (e.g. dance, theatre, spoken word, performance art, etc.) and looking for a way to collaborate with another artist? These summer residencies are aimed at performative artists based in the Netherlands. Artists who would like to explore or push the boundaries of their discipline and who are eager to work with an artist from another discipline. The focus during the residency will be on developing an outdoor site-specific performance: with the terrace of De Nijverheid as the playground. This performance will be presented to the public at the end of the residency.
What to expect
Two-week residency: in a short intensive period of just over two weeks you will work together with your co-resident. The three residency options are:
- RESIDENCY #1 – 3 juli t/m 21 juli | Performance: 18 juli (evening)
- RESIDENCY #2 – 24 juli t/m 11 augustus | Performance: 8 augustus (evening)
- RESIDENCY #3 – 14 augustus t/m 1 september | Performance: 29 augustus (evening)
Focus on interdisciplinarity and crossovers: the residency focuses on cross-pollination among performance-based artists from different disciplines. For each residency, two makers from different performative disciplines are paired together.
Residency atelier: as a duo you will be provided with your own residency atelier at De Nijverheid for two week, the terrace of De Nijverheid will be your playground.
Artistic guidance: as a duo you will be matched with a mentor who will guide you throughout the residency period, mainly on an artistic, but also business/organizational level.
Final performance: the residency works towards an outdoor site-specific performance (indoor back-up location is available in case of rain).
Reimbursement: a reimbursement for participation in the residency will be available of EUR 1,500 per resident. You will also receive a compensation for the performance day of 250 euros per resident.
Selection
Selection will be based on the artistic quality of the application (based on portfolio + artist statement), the motivation for working interdisciplinary and the motivation for participating in a residency with another artist. The selection and matchmaking will be done by a selection committee consisting of the program team of De Nijverheid and the Amarte Foundation. The final selection will be announced on June the 2nd.
